NEAR ZERO.
THEEWATERSKLOOF, SOUTH AFRICA, 2018.
In 2018 Cape Town, South Africa, was the first major city in known world history that faced the possibility of running out of water.
The city relies on rainfall via six catchment dams in the Western Cape, with Theewaterskloof being the largest. At the time of this project's completion, it's level stood at 10.6%.
Treading lightly on the back of a broken giant, I aimed to restore an element of ethereal beauty to what is essentially a divine source of life, without shying away from the harsh reality of its physical context.
