As a photographer, out on assignment or on a whim, I’ve done some pretty crazy shit. As a writer, hell, even worse. It has taken many Trips down the rabbit hole before earning the right to finally bite down and attempt to fuse these two noble follies, keeping my tongue in my cheek and my heart on my sleeve. While it has turned out to be a wondrously messy affair, sharing the intimate tales behind my finest images - both on the page and through spoken word - has certainly added a novel dimension to my art. In the end, going beyond the frame continues to be one of the wildest fucking rides I’ve ever embarked on and the lightsmith, poet and wandering fool within are all just fine and dandy with calling this honest work.

On the hive side of the lens clients have included Media24, New Media, Mercedes Benz, The Nelson Mandela Foundation, American Express, Mail & Guardian, Financial Times, Vrij Nederland, De Kat, Condé Nast Traveller, and Penguin Random House. I’ve also won the PICA Highly Commended Award for Photojournalism in 2013.

My limited edition prints form part of private collections in Africa, Europe and the Middle East and my short stories, plays, travel features, poems and biographies have blackened many a wary page.
